Our Story
Hi! I’m Mau Romero, founder of Minisciples.
Almost twenty years ago, while expecting our first daughter, I went on a hunt for a cute “kawaii”-style Jesus, but couldn’t find one. So I started sketching my own. That simple idea became the seed of Minisciples, even though I didn’t yet know how to bring it to life.
Years later, while building a simple iPhone game, I revisited that original sketch and designed Mary, Peter, and John, the same characters we use now. Today, the daughter who inspired it all is the lead illustrator of the Minisciples universe.
Our dream is to build a joyful Christian entertainment brand that brings faith back into everyday life through beautiful stories and characters.

Mau Romero
Founder • Animator
Mau Romero is the founder of Minisciples, a husband, and dad to six daughters.
He holds a Bachelor’s in Video Game Development from Full Sail University and a Master’s in Theology from Franciscan University of Steubenville. After years in the creative industry, he left secular work to serve in Catholic ministry, where he now works as a Director of Development for a religious community.
Today, Mauricio brings Minisciples to life through animation and storytelling, sharing joyful stories that point hearts back to Jesus Christ.
Fatima
Illustrator • Character Designer
Fatima Romero is the illustrator and character designer behind Minisciples. A recent high school graduate who was homeschooled since first grade, she now works full time creating the world of tiny disciples.
She loves illustration, Hello Kitty, and anime, but more than anything, she loves Jesus Christ. For her, each illustration is a small way to live out Jesus’ call to make disciples, with the hope that every design brings a smile and leads someone closer to Him.
